Boasting the largest ski area in Hokkaido, Rusutsu Resort is open all-year-round. It’s separated into its East Mountain and West Mountain by a road running through the middle. Both sides have resort hotels at their bases. Standing at 868m, the East Mountain’s course connects directly to Rusutsu Hotel. The West Mountain is connected to the Rusutsu Hotel via its ski slopes where you can enjoy untouched snow on the advanced Tree Run Area, gentle slopes on the beginner runs, or jumps and obstacles at the Freedom Park. You can even ski at night time on Rusutsu’s night slopes.
From the top of Mt. Isola you have access to views of Lake Toya and Mt.Yotei. All the lifts at Rusutsu combined have the capacity to transport 31,200 people every hour. After a day on the slopes, you have access to the restaurants, shops and other facilities and activities that the resort has to offer. Last year, a new park – Side Country Park – was built on the outer area of the Elite Course on the East Mountain. This modern powder park is directly accessible by lift and even has zones of un-groomed powder.
The Rusutsu Resort Hotel, which is located at the foot of the resort, can accommodate around 4000 customers. It is separated into the North & South Wings Hotel, and the Westin Rusutsu Resort which only maisonette suite rooms. The two hotels are connected via a monorail, meaning you can easily travel between the two without having to step outside.
